I don't understand. How could they be so fricking stupid? I know it's easy to be an armchair quarterback, but come on folks!!! It doesn't take a genius to prep beforehand so what we watched never happens. Prep (attach) 2 lines. One to the bow and one to the stern. Mate jumps onto the dock with the two lines. Capt shifts to neutral. Mate pulls boat into dock and then walks boat along dock to loading area. Capt cuts engine, gets off boat and gets trailer (I'm afraid to see him back up after watching him dock) Attaches bow to winch line and pulls boat up onto trailer. Really, how complicated is that? Some people shouldn't be allowed to have boats unless they can first prove they can think.

Yep! Love to watch these videos. You're right, some people just don't have a clue how to dock a boat in the wind. Funny!

You apprehended the situation perfectly Destroyer - you articulated my thoughts exactly. I’m wondering if the guy wasn’t drunk? He may have had some quality time to do with that cop when the boat was secured.
If he was as loaded as it looked, he may NOT be allowed to operate a boat for a while - I hope not.

Yeah - I never had anything like that guy, but there was some awkwardness climbing the learning curve.

I'm not going to say that the captain was stupid but I'm sure and hope he learned something from that. We have all been there. It's a learning curve. We get better everytime that we go out. At least every one was good. All he had to do was pull into the dock area and let the wind push him to the dock. Maybe next time.
