Default Motor Blown

:(Been a bad start to the season Sat. before Memorial Day, slip paided for the year, freash bait started up the I.C.Waterway, Bottom blasted with dry ice and backing soda, single coat of paint, fresh motor paint, new prop, tune up, all cleaned up, warmed her up running great picked up 6-MPH. Ran about two miles felt like it ran out of gas. Couldn't find any water or any thing wrong with fuel. Ran about another 2mi. up and on the way back it quit and didn't run well after that. Called Seatow. put back on trailer. Needs power head cylinder scored, ouch! :'( Crusher

Airslot called today guy at marina measured it is 25". Reelpeelin I purchased a 1984 rebuilt Johnson mounted and controls for $2500 today, that I will have to mix oil? Can't jusyify $8000. or $13000. right now. This should be a big step up in performance for now and get my season started. Might make the water first weekend of July or sooner. :) Crusher

Crusher, if you gotta mix oil/gas, get a bottle called "Accu-Mix"...$3.99...it'll make your life much easier...marks on side of bottle tell exactly how much oil to add per how many gals gas you just put in the tank...no-brainer; even I could do it!!...other brands of same bottle available, do the same job...if I still had mine, I'd send it to ya!!... ;) ;D...tell you the truth, even if the VRO is workin', I'd disconnect it and mix anyway...the early OMC auto-oilers were not known for reliability and were known to fail, which of course will FRY the motor...when I got my '86 Evinrude, FIRST thing I did was disco the VRO...never even gave it a CHANCE!... ;)...
