you know, its funny, I usually back the Choke off all the ones around here, they can be a pain to fire up, but once they warm up a little, we have no other issues. Yours's has a Rochester? or Mercarb?

I point out to people all the time that what makes forums better than groups or pages are the stored content and archives. There is a ton of content on this page. Oddly enough, I haven't seen a post from the V20 Facebook page I'm on lately. One thing we all have to realize, even though we think so much of our boats, the v20s don't have the following SeaCrafts and Mako's do. Our boats are getting old and just not economically feasible for many to justify a restoration. Some of that has to do with how they were built when new. As far as the political forum on this page, its a double edged sword. It keeps the site busy, but it has also run several long time members off this site. I choose not to be involved with it and do not post, or read anything in that forum. This site is about Wellcraft v20s and boating. If I wanted to talk politics or have political discussions, there are several other places I can go where the discussion is far more educated, and the skins a lot thicker. There are several friends of mine that I've met on this site that have an opposing political view point than I do. I still talk to, meet, and interact with these people and i still consider them to be my friends, all from this site. I respect their opinion and we leave politics off the table, only revering in our common affection for boating. Very few of yall(current active members) know my history, and how i came to spend a large amount of time on this site. This place was an escape for me during a very troubled time for my family, and gave me few minutes each day to keep bigger burdens off my mind. I hate to see some many people i interreacted with daily, no longer here. There are so many people that i considered friends that have gone on to other things. There were several other boating sites that I frequented, but didn't have the friendship or comradery this site had. Its been rare anyone here has every been edited, shut down or banned from this site. Its what seems to be a common occurrence on other forums, too many other sites are overrun with this drama. Posters looking for confrontation, arguments, general trolling, etc...More concerned with post counts than helping someone out. I have handed out a fortune in free mechanical advise with no expectation of anything in return over the past 15(?) years. My V20 is sitting at my shop with a rotten transom, and will most likely be hauled to the dump in the near future. During the time I've owned my v20, I've had 2 McKee Crafts, a proline, Sea Hunt, Sea Ray, Bumble Bee, Diamond 17, two Isotope sailing catamarans, 6 kayaks, and now it seems i bought a 22 Grady White. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many boats I've fixed, repaired, helped rebuild, repowered, etc.. in that time frame. I'll still be boating, and I'll still be around here, but it seems my Wellcraft V20 boating days are done.
Almost all on this site have respected the rules, and avoided the cursing and vulgarity found on some other sites.
Its still a good site even if less traffic. Also, during winter season some posting drops off from us in the north. Thanks for your post - good stuff.

Congrats on the Grady, and I appreciate your comment. I believe I'll say so long to the poly-ticks for a while and stick to boats and fishing and other sub-forums.

FWIW, we took the old Pipe Dream for a late afternoon cruise yesterday, enjoying unseasonably warm weather (which changed overnight) and other than the Daufuskie ferries we pretty much had the water to ourselves. Saw numerous dolphin playing and birds rafting up. Even though it was fairly warm, it was late in the day and we appreciated having a windshield and top to keep us out of the wind. Have been too busy to get out much lately but hoping that changes in the new year.

Cheers!

Like Spare, I am also a mossy back, been on here 18 years. Miss a lot of the old crew, but have reaped the rewards of their expertise and knowledge. Site traffic is a little slow, but so am I. I kinda like that there is not a lot of mines bigger than yours on here

Only thing that bugs me is when some one joins, ask for a solution to an issue, gets a few answers. Then goes dark.

Merry Christmas to all Let's post bout our love for wellcraft v20 And other boats as well
Let's stay off of the political forum It is what it is We can't change anything
Let's start them motors and go fishing Or in nj get ready for fishing in the spring
I've been a member of this forum for about 3 years now, since I bought my V20 to replace an older Arima. Initially I was hoping to learn a lot about the boat and get support for the things I needed to do, but as the number of posts dwindled and activity moved over to the Politics Forum it has become less and less probable to find useful information about the V20. I stop by every couple days to check new posts, usually don't bother with politics. Here's a picture of my boat in it's current condition. Already looking forward to Spring and a chance to get the boat into some water.

You ,all of you gave me great advice when I had a issue and believe me I had a lot lol . I love the V20 and always will,it's a great looking hull and with all of your help I will keep her going
I can't wait to start posting my fishing trips Im in nj so it's starting to slow down on less you go on a party boat, but the price going on a party boat is getting to high for me.

Nice boat. Looking forward to seeing her undressed and ready for action in the springtime. If you have a question you only have to ask to get an answer to it here. Or, even better, start a new post if you have a special interest or hint on how to maintain or catch fish or...? And we all love boat and fish porn. This site still has more pure, accurate info that any other Wellcraft v 20 site out there, so don't be dissuaded by the political thread. True, that thread is not for everyone, but it gives some people something to talk about, and no one is forced to read it.
