You are correct, RMB, very tasty

G, switched out my surf rods to braid, not sure of it yet, but when it gets hit, it sounds like an outrigger going off

Now that looks good!!!
Braid for the surf? I wasn't to sure about that, because when I fish I use braid for all my bottom fish, fluke, blacks, porgy's, stripers and Blues I use fluro, but I don't fish off the surf. When we get to the spot I do a little cast to get the line wet and sometimes it backs up and it's almost impossible to get the nest out. It seems to be working for and you know the old saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Go get em!!!

I m in the north Gulf of Mexico, Panama City Florida. We normally have spring and fall run of them, usually April and October. They can be caught yer round, but much more in the warmer months.

They are a very good fish to eat, usually baked or grilled or pan fried.

My favorite to eat is triggerfish or flounder. But anything fresh is good

I went to braid on all my rods about 2-3 years ago. Love it. Especially on my downrigger rods.

One of the best tasting fish is the Black fish!!!!
Like I said, I only use braid for bottom fishing, you can feel everything. I feel I need the give - stretch of mono when I fish for Stripers, Weaks and Blues. That's just me and what the hell do I know???

On the topic of braid for surf fishing, I have switched exclusively to it.

I use 20# Sufix 832 with a mono or flouro leader of whatever size the conditions or target species dictates. I use a nail knot tool to attach the 2 lines using 3 turns on the mono/flouro and 5 turns on the braid.
