Default Independence Day Eve Trout

went out between showers and working in the yard for a couple of hours on July 3. Managed to get this guy in about 3 feet of water wade fishing. Was good to get some fresh fish for dinner

This is what he looked like after coating with House of Autrey's seafood breading and Panko bread crumbs and releasing in hot peanut oil. The fish paired nicely with some fresh fried okra, tossed salad and lemonade

Happy 4th Everyone

Love Trout. Not a fan of most freshwater fish, but there's something special about Trout. Nice Independence Day meal. Happy 4th Phat and everyone.

Thanks guys, not a monster, but a meal at least. D that s a spotted sea trout also known as a speckled trout or specks. Lotta fun on light tackle. State just passed new regs with a slot limit between 15 to 19 inches and 1 per vessel over. I like to go out on the grass flats in about knee deep water, throw a small live pinfish on a hook in the potholes and wait for a hit. Lotta fun

The okra looked so good I barely noticed the trout

We had some gray trout (weakfish) in our bag over the weekend. We fried them up fresh, pretty good stuff, probably not as good as the specs.

I love Trout and Salmon. Hard to pick one over the other since they are really the same species of fish. (In fact, Rainbows and Steelheads are the same fish). In all cases I think that next to Flounder/Fluke Trout/Salmon are the best tasting fish of all time. In all cases I'll never refuse seconds of any of them.

I look forward to going to Lake Ontario every fall for the fall Salmon run.

My lousy 2 cents is, Black fish, that's the best, then Striper, Fluke/Flounder for salt water. Not a big sweet water guy, but blackened Catfish then Trout. Does Crawfish/Crayfish count, love those little suckers???
BE SAFE!!!!!
