Most of my batteries these days have the actual date on a round orange sticker.
Years ago I put an Interstate battery in my old green truck, the thing lasted 14 years! It had the month and year punched out on top and a 5 year warranty. When it finally went bad I thought about taking it back for for the warranty but figured I would destroy any good luck with batteries if I did.
