Last saturday we put in31 of these longfins and called it, done by noon. Didn't want to catch to many, need a excuse to do it agian this sunday.

We get longfin mixed with the yellowfin here in the fall but they are 90+ miles

We are lucky this year, they are close, 35 or so miles, gotta love these years.
Had some friends that are out of control, 1 caught 72 the other 84....that is a good day worth of carking..

Longfins are small but you gotta have a lot of friends to give fish with that many tuna.
We only get 3 bluefins/boat/trip and I have a have a bunch in the freezer and happy neighbors. Unfortunately the bluefins that were 40-60 miles out have moved on. Last year the small ones came back thru in Oct only 20 miles out. The night chunking for yellowfin/longfin in the canyons will start soon. I just need flat weather for 2 days.
