It's been a slow season for me for salmon. Usually just 4 inch or 5 inch spoons no flasher. We use Dipsy divers too quite a bit. Have been catching them this year between 25 and 50 ft. Very slow this year.

I usually use a flasher about 3 feet in front of the plug. Seems to work well. Agree on the slow this year. Most of our catches are around 40 feet. running 10lb downrigger fish shaped weights, no paint.

Long story short, had to change head this summer due to bad exhaust valve. Did it with boat in water. Hard time getting head gaskets and intake gasket. Job went smoothly with a donor head.
