Im pretty sure the vanes will flex and flip to the right direction when you crank the engine.

NO. I'm saying the drive shaft from the engine block only turns in one direction. The prop shaft can turn in two directions depending on what gear you are in. So if you turn the drive shaft in the proper direction then you'll always have your impeller vanes turning into the impeller housing in the proper direction.
