Default Thinking about a 2nd V project.

Now that my green machine is getting wrapped up and ready for striper season every time I go by there and see it I see more and more I want to do. Problems is that I really need my boat in the water!!! I'm having major withdrawals of being on the bay. So I think my solution may be easy...buy another boat!! Lol. Sounds crazy, I know, but to get what I vision in my head would mean just tearing my perfectly fine boat to pieces.

Here's what I want. Something bare essential simple. I like the way the first v-20 center consoles were with just the top cap and open floor, not the whole one piece tub. Couple hatches in the floor, console with a seat on the front, big wide open floor for fishing room. Probably about 30 rod holders around the cap. Closed transom with a bracket, 150-200 hp outboard. Would love a 4-stroke if it's in the cards.

This will be a couple year project but when done it would be exactly what I want. So my first thought is finding a good hull to start. Hopped on CL and bam...there she is.

Found this gem about 40 minutes from home. Has titles to both trailer and boat. He wants $425 for both, may be able to haggle him down a bit. Transom is shot but I really don't care about that obviously. Going to go check it out this weekend. If I get it i probably won't start working on it until the new year but it'll be there ready to go.

And if this goes through I will have many salvage parts that will be free for the taking. Really would love to find a V-21 to do this but they seem much rarer.

The first step to solving a problem is admitting you have a problem

But honestly, i don't see a problem

I know I have a problem. My wife reminds me daily. Nothing wrong with having another lawn ornament. He said the trailer is solid, just needs tires so hell there's my money's worth. Got the cash out the bank today, it's killing me that he can't meet until Sunday.

Was supposed to go pick the boat up this morning but of course my 4 year old was up puking all night so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we all get it. I'd hate to get up there and get sick. Wondering if it's a sign not to worry about it right now. Not that I'd be too worried about working on it any time soon.

My buddy Chris Leigh at Oyster Cove has a V 21 project...no motor. Tee Roy know the boat, ask him about it

Troy was telling me about a V-21 in Gloucester. I bet that was it. I don't need much of a hull as my plans are much like Kracker Jacks build. Simple, light and clean. I asked Troy what they wanted for it but he never said. V-21 center console would be cool.

Probably gonna start a dog fight with this, but i never have thought the 21 was much improvement over the 20. Still has a splashwell and the extra foot is a eurotransom hybrid stuck on the stern. Id go with a seadrive hull or an i/o with a bracket.

Interesting. I've never seen a 21 so not sure if the differences. Thought maybe she'd be a little wider as well. I was told the boat at the top of this forum had a 350 mercruiser in it. Part of me would put a bracket and OB on it yet part of me thinks a 350 would be badass, plus I know those motors like the back of my hand.
