Still working on the 84 V20, my question is what is the correct size U bolt eye, the one on my boat is 1 1/2" legs on center, but there is a 3 1/4" indent in the bow to accept a larger bow bolt, this is the eye bolt you attach the winch to pull boat on the trailer, is mine under sized?
Thanks fishingjim48 |

not able to measure right now but I would say my 84 has an 1-1/2. I had it off and in my hand back in September.
The flat spot is for the flat 2 hole "washer/Plate". they are between the hull and the nuts, One outside, one inside.

Your bow eye size is fine.... My 10,000 lb 30' cruiser has the same size.

It is a good idea to be sure there is some kind of backing plate on it, only as strong as the weakest link, I've seen them pull through the hull before on some of the old derelicts I drag home. Someone posted a news article about a V-20 that slid off the trailer on the highway and it was missing a bow eye.
