I know Im a lot late to the conversation but one thing that I did not see mentioned in any of the posts was that ethanol eats rubber and plastic. It dries things out or de-laminates carb boots and the like. In the great white north here our season is far shorter but we also snowmobile a ton, and we have the same problem with boats and snowmobiles when ethanol is used. Another thing to mention is the alcohol in gas burns hotter than straight gas, so detonation and pre ignition becomes an issue, which means potential for pistons and rings or even new cylinders if you stick a piston. We have a few places that sell straight gas at stations, and all the marinas on the big lake only sell straight gas. Ethanol is very bad for recreational motors and should not be used at all.
