Kracker,
If you get the HPDI have the injectors pulled and cleaned/flow tested every 5 years. One lean injector then it's BANG

Keep the fuel clean and the HPDI is a great engine.

I have to agree with Phat that a late model carb Yamaha would be the most reliable choice.
