Default Outboard Drain Repair

Hi Everyone,

I have an '85 V20 with a 150hp Yamaha outboard. In doing my spring (if it ever gets here!) prep, I noticed that the drain hose on the starboard outside drain needs to be replaced.

Unfortunately due to my short arms and ample stomach girth, I am unable to get to the fitting through the aft storage compartment.

There is no one nearby with long arms that I trust to do the job for me, so I was thinking about cutting an access opening in the fiberglass under the aft seat, replacing the hose, and then fitting an access cover to close the hole I made.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Roger
