there are better ones out there, but Smithfield has about 6 stores right off 95. I always swing by when I go to Raleigh and pick up a couple sandwiches(with cole slaw of course), 2 doz hushpuppies and a large sweet tea. I think you are going to have to go to Texas to get beef Bar-B-Que. Its all pork in the Carolinas.

Anyone know if the Georgia Pig ever reopened?

I like Smithfield's BBQ...I LOVE!!!!!! their fried chicken. Do yourself a favor and get yourself some chicken if you stop there.

NOT the tenders either, get the bone in chicken.

if going through Georgia on 95 i can recommend two places for excellent beef brisket at the hwy80/mighty eighth exit i think exit102 in Savannah/pooller turn east under overpass go to third light and dickeys will be on the right. it is a Texas chain very good. At exit 29 in Brunswick turn west and about 1 mile down past two lights you will find Garey lee's in a white cinder block building on your right. not fancy but very good

There's Shulers BBQ in Latta, SC right off 95. I've never been there but my mom and dad speak very highly of the place.....that's saying a lot with us being from Lexington.

The school house in Florence SC is very good. But I'd hate to have to drive anywhere after eating there. I'd need a nap
