From the factory it only had a drain at the bottom... the other two "ports" were added by a previous owner but the way they would work is that the bottom one would be fed by a live well pump with lake/sea water and the upper one would be over flow... the problem with this is that the drain would be right about the same level as the water outside the boat and wouldn't work well... sooooo turning on the pump would most likely cause the well to over flow.....

Best bet is to plug the extra holes

Do you think any kind of re-circulation / airation type pump could work here?

I know next to nothing about salt water fishing but around here a foam bucket for minnows would be WAY better fo minnows and fish ur gonna eat are better tossed into a cooler full of ice..... I have yet to figure out any use for my fish box.

Honestly IMHO plumbing anything into that box other than a macerator for overboard duties is lipstick on a pig
