I sold my t-top yesterday, I sold for 50 dollars more than what I paid for it so im in good shape. The top just wasnt what I was looking for anymore. Plus its one less thing I have to work on at this point. Im gonna be picking up 3 more gallons of resin on Friday and some more 1708 to glass over the covering boards/gunwales. I just cant wait till this glass work is over. Switched all the wood accents over to mahoghony and fabricated the steering wheel base and outrigger bases.

I did some gelcoat yesterday. I dont understand the big hub bub about applying gelcoat? I did the easiest of application by rolling it. After consulting with my supply house they said simply apply 3 coats with pre waxed gelcoat they said like waxed resin you can apply second and third coat wet on wet with out sanding. I gelcoated my anchor rope locker and some other hard to reach areas that cant be painted once cap ply is glued. will have pics up later.

I ve stripped the motor down of all trim and tilt parts, badges off the cowel, transom pivot bracket and lower unit im replacing all the seals, water intake screen, water pump housing and impellor kit. I am glad you decided to sell that top. The boat is turning out nice and that top was fugly.

The repairs I have done with gelcoat were not too bad but I could not imagine doing a whole deck with the stuff while aiming for perfection. Every little spot of peel or anything else would drive me crazy. The sanding would never be done. I have been impressed with bildgekote for things like anchor and under deck storage but I wouldn't hesitate to apply gelcoat in those areas either.

Finally worked on the boat today. Glued the wash rail down and then glassed the whole cap from inner rail and into the exterior of the hull 1 1/2 inches.

Default fiber disk cleaning

I figured out a little trick today for prolonging the life of your fiber disks on your grinders. I catch myself throwing them away after they get loaded up with wax. Today I soaked one for about a minute in acetone and then stroked it with a wire brush and it came out like brandnew. Im sure this has been thought of before but I figured I'd share.

I think that's wise...a target date as priority instead of what you want to get done is a self-imposed SQUEEZE...you're on course to have a really nice CC once yer done...and that'll happen in it's own good time...I've really enjoyed watching the progress you've made!!...
