Default Re: 20' Betram Mopie

A moppie for $5.8K - not bad at all.

I 've owned several, and have a project 20 Bahia Mar now.
Since the Bahia Mar is out for this season, the only other boat I'd consider is a V-20, and was lucky enough for find an '83 center console here in MD.

Note that Ray Hunt designed both the V-20 and Bertram 20 hulls. "Water softeners" is what we call the Bertram 20 and the praise would equally apply to the V-20s.

Given that Bertram 20's were produced prior to the V-20, I'd bet the Bertram 20 design predates the V-20.

Thus the V-20 enjoys a few advantages over the (older) Bertram 20 hull ...
1) the V-20 has much greater bow flare
2) the V-20 has narrower waterline beam, and hence finer entry forward.
3) A useable vee-berth in the V-20, versus sorage area forward in the Bertram 20 moppie.

If interested I have electronic copy of the Bertram 20 brochure.

C-Bill
