| Staten Island Weak Fish

Went out Saturday on Fred's boat for Stripers around Tottenville, nothing. Got Porgies, one Sea Bass and one Fluke, all went back. * Took my boat out on Sunday with Sal for Weaks at the VZ bridge. We got three weeks 4, 5, 6 pounds and two Blues, plenty of lost fish. * Boats limiting out all over. There are still plenty of Weak Fish around, don't know how long they will be there. * Water temp 64 -65 degrees. |

Sounds like a blast! I never caught a weak fish before, I guess I will have to add another fish to next years list ::)

the last time I caught a weak, was actually the first one I ever caught. Drifting eels out of the Fire Island inlet, targeting bass, I feel my eel getting picked up. No big hit or major run-off, wasn't fighting like a blue or a bass......couldn't tell what it was.Kevin grabs the net and leans over the gunnel and yells, "whoa nice weak". 32"-33" 9.8 lbs. Got my eel back too. With the same eel, on the very next drift I nailed a 39" bass. Haven't caught a weakfish since

I know they pick them out on the island, not sure where, if you want maybe I can look into it. *This is a good Weak run this year, last year not good. *I like to give them one shot before the Bass take my life over. |
