Wolves CAN be domesticated. My sister in law had a wolf for over 15 years. Sweetest animal you'd ever want to meet. Friendly to a fault, and a great guardian/protector type. She'd come and sleep at my feet when we visited overnight.
I used to have a Caucasian Ovcharka.. (Russian Mountain Shephard) kinda like a second cousin to a wolf. Best dog I ever had. I miss her to this day. What a shame that those pets were destroyed. The owned should have been more careful about keeping them safe, and the shooter should have been a little less trigger happy.
