Ive got an 88 Yamaha, it is bulletproof so far. Starts on the first turn of the key all season. Go Yammy young man !!!

Thanx for the advice guys ... I am not sure yet which way I will turn ... but it sounds like I cant go wrong.

Don't be a damned fool. Go with the Yamaha. Find an authorized Yamaha repair shop in your area that is not an authorized Yamaha dealer. Have Eds ship it to them for installation. That way you will have the full Yamaha factory warranty. Don't try to have it shipped to an authorized Yamaha dealer because he will want to kick your ***. ;) Consider buying the extended warranty while you are at it. Hope this helps.

If you can afford it, you should absolutely pay for the installation to get the warranty. It's probably a grand for the install which, to me anyway (and I know what they say about opinions but hey, you asked ;D) is worth the warranty and the ability to add to it with Yamaha's extended warranty!!!!!! Not to mention, you just pay for the motor and then pick it up ready to go, no fuss no muss.
