It will take a little work but for the right price I am thinking about picking it up. Anything I should be concerned about? Are they solid boats? It will be used for fishing the Chesapeake?

That's a nice lookin 248...but he's put himself in a bad position IMO...a potential buyer can't even run the engine on a hose w/the foot off...nor can you wet test the boat, so who's to know condition of lower unit?...the price is OK as long as engine and foot are what he says...beat around on the hull and look closely for signs of softness on floor and bow decks...if you can find out a way to test engine & foot and they check out OK along w/hull passing scrutiny, that'd make a good Chessy boat...
