check for power on the red wire at the solenoid with the key at rest, check for power to the small yellow/red wire on the solenoid when the key is turned to the start position, if you have power to the small yellow/red wire when the key is turned, you should hear a click, if not, check to see if you have power coming out of the solenoid(large yellow/red wire) when hte key is turned, lastly, check to see if hte black wire on the solenoid is grounded. IF you don't have power going thru the solenoid, its probably bad

Default no start

Ok the volt reg tested bad so I bought a new one installed and it turned over, but wouldn't start. So I checked for gas at the carb, no gas.

Pulled off the pump cleaned out the bowl and put it back together. went and got some gas for the tank. Still no gas at the incoming line so I did the mouth thing.

Now I got gas at the pump and I'm turning it over it catches cause I put some gas down the throut but now the turn of the key does NOTHING again.

Its back to square one again with the ign key stuff...

Ok, I found out why It starts and then turn key and nothing, there is a big round, black plug and on that same board is a red reset button, well that plug keeps coming out as the eng turns over.

Any one tell how that is normaly held in? a clip some wire, elect wraps?

also changed the fuel line it was old and brittle. Still no gas at the fuel pump...

I have not got it to start yet still working on it...

take note of that electrical plug, it will not be the last time you look at it. Sounds like your fuel pump may be bad, hook an outboard primer bulb to the rubber fuel line and see if you can pull fuel from the tank, that will let you know if you have a blockage from the tank
