While I completely agree with you in principal, the harsh reality is stated above. You'll never please all of the people all of the time. So, to my way of thinking, pleasing the most amount of people the most amount of the time is the hoped for goal. Since over 60% of people polled identify themselves as moderate to staunchly conservative, and liberals only make up 20% of the population, my thoughts are that a group, like the Tea Party, is the logical starting point to attaining the goal you just mentioned, namey us against them.

I think a certain amount of compromise is inherent in the political arena. If that is what you are talking about I agree.

What you have in the Tea Party ARE people from all sides coming together and demanding accountability in the government. That is why the hierarchy of both parties have tried to eliminate them. Now are more of those people tending towards conservative principles in government, you betcha. Those conservative principles of honesty and integrity, leadership and compassion are traits that were inherent in our Founders and in our Constitution. Principles of non-professional politicians that served for the sake of their country and not themselves. Principles of common sense leadership where you do not spend more than you take in. Respect for the rule of Law and ensuring that no man was above it. Respect of the American Citizen and what that meant, respect of the principle of limited government and what that meant. Respect of the principles of Liberty and that those Liberties and Rights were inherited from God whatever you believed him to be. And that government does not grant Rights, they come from God and cannot be altered by the state. Those are the inherent principles of our Nation, principles that multiple generations fought to secure. So while some compromise is needed to make things work you first need both major groups on this nation agreeing to honor those commitments and the Rule of Law. What you have now is a lawless socialist that has decided that this Constitution is not what it says it is. You have a socialist who believes in the collective a la Karl Marx. And he believes the ends justifies the means. In other words he believes himself above the law and above the constraints of the Constitution. You don't compromise with that, you eliminate that as quickly and decisively as you are humanly capable of. You stand as a people against it and start down the road of the Rule of Law and the Constitution, the road leading to responsible government. Yes I know, there have been Progressive/Socialists in both parties. Yes I know no one is perfect and Lord knows Romney is not. He is a start down the road, he is a national smite of the socialist agenda. We need that desperately now. The Tea Party People are trying to give us that start, trying to force both parties down the road to national recovery.

The tea party sold out to the neocon republicans (owned and operated by the liberal media) when they started having sarah palin as a spokesperson. These controllers have turned the tea party into more of a containment vehicle to funnel money and energy/support to the sidelines and to make sure nothing ever really gets accomplished that has to do with stopping the banking cartel/war machine/.gov as your overlord/big brother in your face watching and controlling your every move/BS system that we have let take over. Any form of opposition that really matters or makes any kind of sense is quickly swept under the rug as being too old or having to scary of a foreign policy or just can't win. Thats why we will be served the drivel of the two choices for pres yet again. Ferm I with ya on the Ron Paul thing even if it doesn't work. Got a bad feeling though that he had that early morning breakfast with bernanke and got shown secret footage of the kennedy assassination where you can see some .gov goons taking him out and this caused the sudden drop off in his campaign. However, it good what he's created in amassing the delegates and the freedom movement infiltrating roles with the local and state party and .gov's, not to mention the spectacle to behold in Tampa at the republican convention. Ron Paul can't even control the delegates. They have a mind and will of their own and many couldn't give a rats *** about the republican party. In my opinion this could be the convention of our lifetime, or not.

NO!! The Tea Party has not sold out to anyone. Since no one is our leader it would be hard for one person to be our spokesperson. People still don't get it. The Tea Party isn't really a party at all. It's just a bunch of really pissed off citizens (millions in fact) that want a better government for their Country, themselves and their families. We get our information from a variety sources, we talk amoungst ourselves, we go to meetings in our hometowns and we vote based upon who we think will best uphold the values for our Country that we, as individuals and as a collective, are looking for. Although I hold her in high regard, Mrs. Palin is not our spokesperson, nor is Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or any of the other talk show hosts. I get as much information from CNN and NBC as I do from Fox. And I would say, to those that are saying that the Tea Party that created such turmoil in the 2010 elections is dead... watch what happens in a few months...

That certainly is not any Tea Party groups I am aware of, perhaps you are referring to the Tea Party that Nancy Pelosi talks about.

You saw them at work yesterday in Wisconsin. Yea, dead. Yea, neo-con. Sorry, that is so far from the truth I really do not know what to say to you.

was it me, or did the press completely try to sweep the Wisconsin recall under the rug last night. I saw the same article on Yahoo till about midnight about it being really close on the exit polls, long after the election was over(Walker won by a landslide). I had to search a bunch just to find any results listed. I checked the evening news, it was like they had to say something about it, so the waited till way into the news cast to mention it, didn't say much of anything about it. Yes, I have my tin foil hat on

I found it very very interesting the news that has leaked out the past couple of weeks about Wisconsin and their unions. The public sector unions have lost 28% of their membership in the past six months. The teachers union has lost one third of its membership in the past two years. So basically as soon as the people were given a choice on whether they paid these dues to a union they did not agree with and/or spent their hard earned money on a left wing agenda they did not like, guess what they did? They quit it. Supposedly now, according to a union rep interviewed a few days ago the unions anticipate a major loss of members if Gov. Walker gets reelected. The other tid bit I found very interesting last night is the info that came from exit polling, a large percentage of those voting for Gov. walker were also union members. I am a union member, a public sector union member, two of my brother's are union members, three of my sisters are union members. Not a one of them is voting for the Obamination this fall. All of us are strong supporters of the reforms Gov. Walker did in his state and wish it went viral nationally. A lot of good people in the unions, honest hard working people. A lot of these people do not want socialism in this country and want to see this country rebound. Last night you found out that in the state that brought unions to the highest political power and the state with the most liberal policies and voting records in the nation decided enough was enough. God Bless them and God Bless Scott Walker

The President became hated when he introduced Obamacare. all of this talk about finding common ground is a smoke and mirrors job. there's far too much fear mongering about how the president is gonna turn our nation into a socialist country.clue,it'll never happen.I remember hearing the same stuff from some of the ultra conservative groups when Clinton was elected.Ammo and gun prices went through the roof for a while because these people put the fear talk out then that everyone was going to lose their right to bear arms.it never happened just like this country turning into a socialist country will never happen! The problem is that too many people have bought into the BS ultra left and ultra right fear mongering that media sources like MSNBC and FOX news have been putting out for far too long now. They do it because like so very many politicians,it's what they're being paid to do! The Teaparty may in fact have started out wanting our politicians to be responsible and held accountable but they are now perceived as a far cry from that original intent.Obviously there are still many good members but they need to do some policing of the bad element within. On the other side of the coin i beleive that the democratic party has lost face by playing to the poor who have taken advantage of our public assistance programs and they do it for the votes. My opinion on this will probably amaze some of you but welfare should be turned into workfare. We can provide jobs for people on public assistance who are able to work.they may not be great jobs but, instead of simply collecting gov't money each month, the able bodied would go to work each day and then they would recieve a paycheck and pay taxes on the money they have earned. They could also recieve job training so they could eventually find a better job and move out of public housing and into their own home. Those who refuse to go to work would be forced to live in a county poor house.they'd be fed, have a place to sleep and have a roof over their heads.Nothing fancy, bologna sandwiches and tomato soup, etc.,a large common bunk area and so on.Sooner or later MOST would figure that if they would simply go to work they would be able to move out of the poorhouse and have a job and a place of their own to live. What would happen is that most of these people would get a sense the accomplishment that comes with work and earning a paycheck.
