Default sender unit  now what

i just came in and replaced my fuel sender unit and still not working
when i turn on the power it goes right to full when its not,.
now what should i do next?

sounds like you mite have a short in the wiring .try to jump the sender to the gauge with another piece of wire .

i have an extra gauge and did this
with the wires still connected to the dash gauge i went to the sender in the fuel tank and put the red to red and the ground to ground and it worked but for some reason the dash gauge is picking up to much voltage hmmm what do i do next
how do u run knew wires without taking up the deck

Like I said!! Gas gauge's Suck!!

I havenever had one and I have never run out of gas either!!
