Default kickin around the idea

Well I'm starting here , I haven't made up my mind but am kicking around the idea of selling my pride and joy... with the economy in the tank and not looking to promising in the next few yrs , and my youngest going off to school in the fall of 2012 for the next 7 yrs... I could use the extra money for things in general......Well what I'm asking is what do you guys think my boats worth....

87 dual console.
07 200 hp e-tec (still under warranty til 2014)
08 tandem Axel trailer.
Tons of goodies..

Definitely wait until spring.
I was thinking the same thing. You have a lot of dough invested in that beauty. When you really sink yourself into something like you have with your boat, it truly is what they mean when they call it a "labor of love". Very difficult to put a price tag on something like that. Unless you can find someone that really appreciates the care you've put into that boat, you're going to take a major hit. It's totally on you how much of a hit you're willing to take.
I understand your thinking, but I also believe it's gonna hurt. You seem to have made that boat one of the family. Lot's of time money, memories, etc.
That said, after you find what the market will bear when faced with a hit, wouldn't it be nice to sell it for that reduced price to a family member. That's what I see your boat as. One of the family that should possibly stay in the family. That way you still get to see her periodically.

Just some random thoughts. Some difficult decisions to be made. I wish you well Lumber.

Waiting until spring will give you more time to think about it. Looks like you have a slip for it? Maybe just not use the slip next year which would save you some bucks.

Ain't worth a dime. Might as well keep it and take your kid out on it when he is home. Tell him to study hard and get some scholarships!

i'm with RKC and the rest....the 7 to 10K you might get for the boat aint gonna pay for half a year of college....give up the slip, winter storage shrink wrapping and the rest and in 2 years you'll save what you could get for the boat....even mothball it if you had too...no gas expense, 2 stroke oil, bait.....for what you got into it unless you needed it to save the house I would keep it.

Thanks Guy for the input ... if I sounded desperate ...sorry ... I was basically trying to get a feel for what its worth more or less.... by no means am I not getting by... I guess i was venting sort of... I'm fortunate enough to be working everyday and Sue is still teaching.

p.s. i could easily be talked out of selling my baby.

Don't, put her on a trailer and save as said above. I am in the same boat Kenny, new motor on an older hull, nice hull but you could not sell it today for a fair price.
Keep her on the trailer, you have launches all over by you and use her.
