			Been waiting for the right one to come along, found it this week, it out of a 31 foot Contender. Will be a real good change from my two too low helm chairs. 
		
		
		
		
		
		
			Need advise on a couple of things. -These were installed on the Contender with just screws into the cockpit floor. Is that the norm? -when i remove my pedestal seats there is going to be six hole I think each, best way to fill and finish so I don't look like a podunk on the water? -doing bolts where the seats were and where this is going to go, no real access, should I use one of those marine expansion screw set ups. Do they hold up well? - you see the foot rest on the front, well there are the same exact mounting brackets on the back, any idea what those are for? they are too high for a cooler holder and it came with a strap set up for that. -cup holders are missing for the holes you see, is that something you can normally buy somewhere? - I know, I am a pain in the arse! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

	willy, i used something like this for some spring line cleats on the v. i was a little leary of them , but they work well and are pretty easy to use. even better would be to put in an inspection plate and use fender washers and nylock nuts. i hate a floppy seat...  |

			Mine was mounted down with #14 stainless screws and alot of 5200 and she never budged even in some NASTY water. As for the old bolt holes, I would use some git rot to initially fill the holes if it is a wood core so as to encapsulate it so water can't get into the core. Then use a gel coat patch kit and color match it to make them not so much of an eyesore and cover em over. If you can get to the underside though, I would through bolt it with 1/4 stainless. If not just the 5200 and #14 stainless screws. As for teh rear mounts, it could have been for some outriggers maybe?

Wish I could scoot back up there and give you a hand w/that install, but kinda got my hands full at the moment...and I wouldn't be surprised if the seats that come out don't find their way to a venerable V-20 somewhere...LOL!! 			Since it was probably custom made for the Contender and not a generic size, i would think that the brackets lined up with the edge of the console, both of which, would be screwed directly into the stringers.  
		
		
		
		
		
		
			As for the rear brackets they could be to mount another foot rest pipe on, for more rod holders. ALso on Contenders website this is an option for seating for the 30 Tournament, "Tournament leaning post (Features tray, cooler base, (4) rod holders and folding footrest)" This is right off Condender's website. The holes in the floor?   I will let someone else chime in on that one. As far as the toggle bolts i have not used them on my boats. But i have used them for mounting shelving, tv brackets, etc in restaurants, bars etc,. IMO they are as strong as an equivalent size bolt and nut with a fender washer. We always put 1/2 or 3/4 plywood on the studs before sheetrock to anchor stuff to. Its strong. One builing owner didn't like the idea. I told him if he could rip the shelving down i will replace it with his choice of fasteners on MY time and dime. After a couple tries he gave up.

			Willy, I looked down into the pedistal that's original on this '84...I haven't confirmed it yet, but it appears to be a 3-4" hole thru the floor deck under the center of the pedistal...hope this not the case on yours...
