Emily the storm luckily fell appart and allowed us to go out Friday night for the midnight opening of the season. Bully netting worked out great again. Asside from a few rain showers weather was great. Caught our limit and back home for breakfast.

Nice catch Joe. I was amazed at how few we saw after daybreak on opening mini. They were stacked up before. Maybe the week plus let them congregate up again. Where were you and what boat did you take?

Outside of Caesar's Cut on the V of course!
Actually when it's extreme low tide I have to be careful how and where I drive the boat in these flats but for the most part the V handles it fine. Last year we had to get out and push a few times but this year I knew the terrain a lot better. Most guys go on flats boats. Some go all out with small super quite Honda Generator, electric trolling motor and all. Battery and 1 light of the bow and another off one side does it for me. Current and wind play a big role in how visible it is even at 1-2'. They will die down rather quickly now that there are a crap load of traps out there. I can't wait to make the cross to Bimini and try diving for theme there. Last edited by joe7670; 08-09-2011 at 12:36 PM. |
