I see a guy on craigs list all the time .Its in Ashland va,just a little north of richmond.He always has mercury motors .Rebuilt one year warranty.I see alot of good looking motors for 7,500 and under.Steve 804-357-6065.Never have done any business with him.Long way from you but may be wirth the ride.If you call him and find someting you like,its not far from me,i can always stop by to look at for you,at least you would have an opinion other than him.

Two additional possible motor sources for you:
1. ARG Marine /ARG Boat Sales in Florida - I bought a used Evinrude 200hp DFI from them - had 11 hours on it and saved a ton of money vs new. See their web site. Ask for Victor. I was very careful about buying and having it shipped, but they did everything top notch. They don't sell weak or defective motors. 2. Marine Supply - Gulf Port MS. They are listed as a top rated seller on ebay. Check out their web site. They claim to be a very professional re build company with state of the art equipment, and offer warranty. Well thats off the table right now. Because a mc donalds sausage mcmuffin was more important to another driver i am now repairing my truck.
Too bad for the next one who cuts me off i am putting a heavy duty bumper on my truck.
