Default Helm Seat Replacement ??

I finally got sick of the bruises on the back of my legs from the orginal helm seat. I received my new Todd single leaning post today. I've got a couple of questions now that it's time for he swap. How is the original seat post mounted? I had the 1st bolt come right out but the rest just spun. Will I need to cut in a hatch? Are the nuts on the bolts spinning? or is there a plate under there? Thanks

Hey 2nd.. There's a member on this site that's in need of a helm seat. He's tight on money and is having a bad time of it with an illness that's causing him to need to sit down. If you're not needing that seat and feel like donating it you can find his post last week in the general section.
Thanks
D

Good suggestion Destroyer.....to answer your question mine did the same thing. Not sure if the pedestal was originally through bolted and then boat assembled or what but mine were spinning....I drilled the heads off and let the bolts fall into the abyss never to be seen again and then filled the holes and rotated my new base and drilled new holes and used them fancy snap togglers that have been mentioned on here a bunch of times.

Rob's right on the money!!...That's about the way it'll go...togglers...and be sure you SEAL any new core wood that you expose when drilling new holes...pics of the job if you can...

I have a seat that might work well in the v20 . . . might look a little funny, but I think it would be very functional.
