I have an OMC Sea Drive 1.6L, from what I can tell this will work for my application. What do you think?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...t_15277wt_1159 Is there a reason this is so cheap? I had a starter for this motor rebuilt about 3 years ago and it cost me $150. My starter works fine now, but the post where the batt cable hooks onto is very corroded and has me worrying! |

Yes, that one will work. Most all of teh parts on your 1.6L sea-drive are the same as that years 115HP outboard. $150 for a rebuild is just downright rape for one of these starters. A full endcap kit is normally about $30 for one and maybe another $40 for turning the armeture and putting the cap on is all I could see for it. The one in teh ad is just a chinese knock-off is why it is so cheap, but even a good brand name ARCO is only about $150-200.

I just found and bought an ARCO starter on ebay for the same price. It was mounted but never used for $69. Can't beat that!
