Default Trying to get a value

I was wondering if I could get some of your opinions. I'm thinking about selling my V-20 but really don't know what it would probably sell for. It's an '89 in good shape with normal wear. It has new rod holder inserts, a new 60 gallon fuel tank and all new hoses, vents, fill nozzles, etc. It has a 140 Suzuki 4-stroke that runs like new. It has a bimini but the canvas needs some repair. It comes on a 5 year old Tidewater, dual-axle bunk trailer. It's rock solid other than a couple of soft spots around the mounting brackets for the optional rear seat (which I don't have). It has functioning electronics (GPS, FF) and safety equipment (VHF, flares, etc.)

Would anyone like to venture a guess as to what I might be able to get for it? It would really help in my decision-making process.

Thanks for your help.

Paul K

Thanks for you reply ByGraceAlone. It is a cuddy. The Suzuki is a 2002 with about 400 hours. My cameras broken but I'll see if I can track down some pics.

$5500, value is in the motor and trailer. Figure $4000 for the motor, $1000 for the trailer and $500 for the boat. Not saying you couldnt get more but I think this is realistic.

Yeah, sadly, I think Mulv is in the ballpark. If she's in really nice condition, you might get $6k to $6500.

If you're not in a hurry, you can sell the motor, hull, and trailer separately, but that's sometimes more headache than the few extra bucks you might get.

Continues to be a terrible time to sell a boat. Over on the hull truth, there are some really good deals; that's what you're competing with these days...

I originally was going to say $6500 and I don't think you will be out of line doing so. However, if you want a quick sale the key is to price it where its going to sell. I recently sold my 79' V-20 with a 2000 Johnson 150 and a real nice dual axle roller trailer. It had a similar description to your V, new gas tank and hoses, new battery, top etc. I asked $3800 and accepted $3500. If I wanted to wait and play games with all kinds of prospective buyers I probably could have listed it for $4500. But I wanted it sold, understood the market and priced it where I thought it would move.
