I had a hard time getting the impeller off the driveshaft of my friends 2 yr old Yamaha. It was all plastic/rubber. Keep at it, like Spare said, even if you have to cut it off the shaft. BTW- If all else fails I hear that the lowers that Stern Drive Engineering are producing are holding up well, and the price is crazy low compared to new OEM.
