Whenever I'm typing a long response I normally open a text editor such as wordpad or notepad and copy/paste (control + c = copy and control + p = paste) into it while I am writing. That way if something happens to the browser or server when I hit "submit" I still have it. Been burned too many times with exactly what happened to you! Or you can just type it in the text editor to begin with, THEN paste it into the forum thread.

Blue, you're exactly correct... if I had any brains I'd do the text/copy/paste thingie and never have a problem. The big word there was "if".

As for settings, yes, several things are different. Most notable are: Home comp runs XP64 bit with the "remember me" box checked for this server. Here it's W732 bit without the box being checked.

Since I never write long responses to things <cough-BS-cough> I'll have to try to remember the text/copy/paste for the next time I make a long post. Thanks for the idea!!
