If you are at all thinking about doing it yourself, I would recommend jumping right in. You said in a later post you were considering of repowering as an option. If that's true, you don't have much to lose other than some time and the cost of a manual. Forget the Clymer or Seloc, get a real one. I found a factory manual for mine, cost $75.

Its really not that hard a skill to learn, although there are those that just do not seem to have any aptitude for mechanical work.

As for compression, 75psi seems a little low, but it still might be enough to fire. Having the same psi reading on each cylinder is more important than an absolute number.
