thanks. Yes, she didn't know I was just checking my bait. Should have had the picture taken with "fish on". Albeit it would have been just a scup or black bass so I wouldn't have been that excited anyhow.

So when you do have fish on, and you haul it up to the boat, does she try to grab the fish?

I need to keep her away due to the hooks etc, but she loves to smell the fish over when I let her. I was talking to someone who takes their dog fishing as well, and they let the dog eat the first fish (only the first fish). Since I'm the one that needs to clean up after the dog, I am careful to what I feed her. Plus, not sure my dog would want to stop just after the first one.

I used to have a cat that loved to eat raw fish; I would throw her small chunks
when I was cleaning fish. If I let her, she would pounce on a whole fish and try to take bites out of it.
