			RoadKingCole, in theory I agree with you .. but again, like I said before, in the right conditions I think any boat or ship will get very wet very cquickly.  (and yes, it's really a cool thing to be standing on the bridge and watch the bow plow into a huge wave and disappear, feel the entire ship shudder from the force of tons of water being displaced in seconds, and then to see the bow suddenly come up from under the water like a submarine, shaking off the water in a huge wall of spray..  totally beautiful) When I lived in Toms River in the 70's I used to fish Barnaget all the time... Saw more than a few half submerged boats (hulls) being towed to the coast guard station. Ever since they put in the North Jetty in it's caused more problems than it fixed.. They were supposed to realign the South Jetty to cut down or eliminate the shoaling but I'm not sure if they ever did it. It's a nasty inlet though.  Personally I'm glad I don't have to go through it anymore..
