Better go to your state's DNR website and figure out the legalities for the size and placement of the numbers. If they are not exactly right it gives the DNR a perfect opportunity for a boarding and potential citation(s).

I just went to the website for you and you are not in compliance. Registration numbers/letters must be in 3" high BLOCK letters. Glad you posted what you have on there now so maybe this will save you the hassle of a citation.

The letters are 3" tall so I am just not in compliance with the block style. Oh well, they are staying on. I will let you guys know if I get cited.

No problem Curapa. Boat really looks good and I like the lettering. Just may get a picky DNR guy looking for a reason to pull you over, though. As long as you have all of your required equipment, person at the helm is not BUI, etc. should not be a big deal. Good luck with the boat. Again, it really looks great (love the yellow!).

OH...Sooooooo True!!!! They stopped me one time...cause half of one letter on one side was torn off from wave action.... Wanted to see the boats registration.. I gave it to them.. while they were checking it the wind blew it out of the one guys hands and overboard... sank before anyone could a net on it. Then..... you're gonna love this..

they escorted me back to the dock and said I couldn't boat anymore that day because I didn't have a valid registration with me.

Cost me $5 and a trip to the DMV for a duplicate.. Welcome to New Jersey....
