Default SUZUKI DF 140 Prop size?

I am trying to get a prop size to start my hunt for the exact size i am going to need. I have a 20 center console and the motor is on a bracket.

I was going to guess in the 14x20 range but it would be great if anyone on here has the same or similiar setup as i do that could give me some insight.

thanks

Truly, I don't know your engine, but just as a S.W.A.G. (Simple Wild Assed Guess) I'd think that a 20p prop would be too much. 15-17 would be my guess for that HP...19 tops. We all know the drill.... See what your engine makers recommendions are for WOT, then get a prop that lets you hit that number but not go hugely over it. That's the proper size prop for your engine.

Randleman has one on his cuddy, and I believe he says he runs a 16-18 pitch stainless.

I have a 14 x 19 pitch and a 14 x 21 pitch....both are almost perfect, a 20 pitch would be perfect but I cant find one in a 14 inch diameter.

I get 40 mph out of either one.

It's a Suzuki 3 blade stainless 14 x 20. It has vent holes at the base of each blade. It's the original prop that the dealer fitted when he installed the motor. I run fairly heavy, with lots of rods, gear, anchors, coolers, and always 30 -55 gallons of gas. The hard top adds some weight too. At WOT, light, with motor trimmed up perfectly, she will get to 6000rpm and ~38mph. But I rarely do that. When I'm in a hurry I'll run at 5600 rmp, just shy of WOT.

Default prop size

I got my prop figured out. 14x19 in aluminum is perfect. 13 1/4 x 20 would be the size i need for stainless. Theres a prop shop near my way that has a few gurus. They know the black magic of the prop worl for sure. I dont know my speed since my gps is not rigged up just yet but it sure feels like im moving. Im gonna guess a little over 40.

I have 2 brand new aluminum props i think 13 and something by 15 and a (i think) 14x17 if someone would like a spare let me know ill come off em dirt cheap... $50? theyre brand spankin new
