Default Final deal ?

Well I think I may have found the best deal FOR ME. In talking to all the local marinas, I keep getting forwarded to this one in particular for rebuilds. Looked out of state but what good is a warranty out of state. Here it is: 1994' Johnson 150 HP looper being rebuilt as I type. Motor and controls Installed and bay tested with a 90 day warranty on whole job. Installing a new Tach, giving brand new aluminum 15 X 15 Prop. Friends who have been boating a long time in this area tell me he's honest and does excellent work ( even other shops ! ) he was asking $3,800 got him to $3,500. What do you think ?

Sounds like a good deal to me, and it is good to hopefully be hooked up with a good, honest mechanic. Good luck with it--should be a perfect match!

???? I think my post got deleted... I answered this thread the same day Joker posted it. That's the second time I put something up and it disappeared..wierd.

As to the question at hand, I don't know..... It's nice to have it all installed and such, no denying that... but $3500 is a lot of your money.
Truth be told it's more than I spent on my boat, motor, and trailer.

You might want to go that direction.. buy a combo, take the motor and sell the hull and trailer. I don't know why, but people sell their entire package for less than the parts that make up the package are worth. Look in eBay or on Craigslist and you'll see what I mean.

It's your call...

Its all in what you want, I bought a 1984 Sea Ox for $3000, in fall of 2006, I added a hard top,$3000 all new electronics, $2000 and now a 2005 4 stroke at $8200, miss and the boat stands me right about $20,000

There is nothing like having all new! Man I just turn the key and no worries all day (I Hope!!)

Joker if you love the boat and sure you are keeping it, then go for it! If you can trust the guy and he does a complete rebuild the right way, its worth it!

I just looked at a 20' foot Mako brand new, boat motor trailer, nothing else $40,000

You can do a lot with that kind of coin!!

Good Luck

Joe your boat is the cats meow now, don't be toying with us. I see the fish looking at it from afar in the water even showing it off to their school. Someday all of us will be like the Maco with the 4 stroke but until then we get to listen to loud 2 strokes.
