Default Nice V20 with hardtop

This is not my boat nor do I know the owner. I was in Norfolk over the weekend fishing on my buddys 1978 V20 and on the way home I stopped by this place to see this one I found on the net [yes, I am a boat *****].

I didnt get up in it so I cant comment on the deck, but it really looked good from the outside. Hull sides still very shiny. The compass and fishfinder mounting leave alot to be desired.

Go to their used boats and it is the 3rd or fourth one down.

It looks like this boat used to be owned by a member of this board, dmoore.
Look on page 7 of the photos in the gallery section. dmoore posted a couple years ago that he sold it to the current owner for $10,500 after he got a beautiful V21.

Think about that the next time you read a boat ad stating how much the seller "invested" in the boat !

You are exactly right! Although it is not in the same condition as when yours truly owned it! Ha! A friend of mine told me he had seen it at the current dealer a while back...about 1 hour south of me.....I really missed that hardtop every time I'd fight with my bimini........as for the compass & depth finder mounting there just isn't room on those older V's so you do what you can even if you hate to.. : ) maybe someone here will give it a good home.....if they do I'd be happy to recant the restoration....Looks like that Stern Drive Engineering lower unit had paint adhesion issues? Bottom paint! Ughhhhh!................Dave

Where did you guys go fishing and what did you catch?

I usually take the family out croker fishing in the James River right there where Newport news shipyard is and we usually have good luck, just wondering if the big croker are there yet.
