Just may be pulling my V up to Scituate Massachusetts in that time frame. Going up there to see my Mom and will have up to 3 of the kids with me. Flight prices are not great, so I will probably drive it, and although it would suck up a log of gas, thinking about bringing the V with me. I hate sitting around my Mom's cottage on Scituate harbor looking out at the ocean without a boat to go out on. I could just route my trip through the Garden State and join up with y'all. Long shot at this point, but possible.

If I do pull the V up to Scituate, Mass. but do not make it to the get-together, I would love to meet up with CB, MJ and any of you others up in the Bay State.

you guys got some nerve not workin' while the rest of us are....pretty good crowd for a Tuesday. How was the heat ...I was out yesterday and even at good cruising speed it still felt friggin hot out.

And Nipper that would be awesome if you stopped by for some old fashioned NJ hospitality.

it was good to see you too lumber. We (my wife,my dog,and I) were just leaving after spending some time on the ocean side on the beach. My dog is a real trooper. After being thrashed by waves continued to swim out through the surf to swim with me. Our visit was cut short when my wife was attacted by some greenhead flies. When you saw us we were heading to a sandbar by the lighthouse. Every single sandbar over there had horseshoe crabs all over them which creeped out my wife. So we decided to just head home. That boat of yours is just as nice in person as it is in all your pics. I'm anxious to see it up close.

Nipper,
thanks. It would really be great if you made it to the get together

Rob,
My wife and I both have the week off. It was damn hot out! But by the lighthouse it was almost 10 degrees cooler. I didn't want to leave. I was suprised to see that many boats there for a tuesday. I took the kids over there on Saturday. There had to have been 500 boats there. But it was a blast.

Less than two weeks to go. Can't wait to raft up and down some cold ones with some other v20'ers

rob it was 101 and green heads were out for a while, I tried crabbing but couldnt take it, so I went to tices to clock my ride and it took me 25 minutes from tices to my boat slip cruising at 4500 rpms.

Here's a list of ramps in NJ. http://www.thefishingline.com/njramp.htm Scroll down the page a bit to see the Barneget bay ramps. There are a few within striking distance to Tice's. Supposedly there is a free ramp near the state marina in Forked River but Ive never used it. Hopefully someone else will chime in on that. Any ramp in that area will be a 5-10 minute ride across the bay. I'll see you guys out there.

See the beginning of this thread. It's not a free ramp.. it's a street that has a launch area at the end of it. It's just a side street that ends at the waters edge in a little cove. A long time ago someone dumped some crushed stone in at the end for better traction.. others followed.. after a while there was a launch area. I used to use it in the mid 70's all the time when I lived in Tom's River. I checked on Google Earth a few weeks ago and it's still there, and it's listed on NJ Launch ramps. There are two problems... one is it's a very gentle slope, so you need to get your trailer wet. The other is that it's only a street... when the street fills up with trailers you have no place to park after launching, so you need to get there early (4am ish) if you want to launch there. But it's free, and it's in fresh water (Cedar Creek) so your engine gets a little sweet water internal wash after being in the brine all day. It's a 5-10 minute run down the river past several Marinas to the bay (5 MPH-No Wake Zone) and then a short (10 mins tops) ride straight across the bay to the lighthouse. If anyone wants/needs directions to get there send me a PM and I'll tell them where it is. Really only locals know about it and they keep it's location secret for the most part.
