Default Hard top question

Hey guys, I have the chance to get a hard top with curtains for a good deal off of an older style V20 than mine. I was wondering if the top would fit with the curtains without any modifications since the decks of the two boats look different. Will the posts for the top need to be cut to make the curtains fit or are the dimensions the same? Thanks for the info guys.

I don't.

Maybe if you had a picture of this hard top and how it is mounted the experts here would have a better idea. I am assuming you are talking about one of those aluminum framed bimini like things, but a hard top instead of canvas? Curtains? I imagine there's a few different styles...

good luck.

I bought a V20 full enclosure from Franco on the site that came off his 83 V20. At the time I had a '73 V20 and it fit like a glove with zero mods. I sold the '73 and bought my 1994 V21. I had to add snaps to the side curtains to accomodate the rounded side windshield but other than that the fit was good, not perfect but good. Of course I'm referring to a bimini (soft top) w/ full curtains, not a hard top but I think it is relevent. It is likely you would have to make some minor (hopefully) adjustments to the curtains to get a good fit. Franco was in Florida and I'm in NC so I was kinda rolling the dice so to speak....it all worked out and it was the best $ I ever spent on my boat.

What year model V20 is the top coming from? Also need to know what year your boat is. If yours is self bailing and the other is not there would probably be a couple/few inches difference in the floor height. Little things like that and the different style windshields. Even though the windshields on some models are slightly different they are still about the same width.
P.S. Thanks Pubah for my enclosure!

i wasnt really worried about width, i was more worried about height from the bow to the top of the windshield since it looks different there. The boat the top is on is i think a '74 and mine is a '79.

It will fit but the floor height is different from 74 to 79, and I believe the gunnles are a different style, but I not 100% sure. The curtains should be fine, I be more worried if the legs on the top are adjustable or if you had to cut them off and re-weld them?
