Skool, anytime you feel like the dust is getting too thick on those Bennetts just let me know. I'm sure we can work out a deal that would be satisfactory to both of us.

Mack I'm afraid Dan's gonna be right re that swim platform...and with the way the ladder retracts into it, notching it out might not be an option...

Here's the way I did mine on the 74...

And had to do same on the 21...

I still have the swim platform shown on the 74 in case you can use it...

Good luck w/it and let us know what happens...but whatever you gotta do to get a set of tabs on, it'll be worth it fo sho!!

Tabs installed, It all worked out perfectly, just a little notch using a multi function tool to the bottom of the Swim platform.
I choose not to drill holes through the transom for the power cable I routed it through the existing drains.
I was pondering if I should have powder coated the the tabs before installation ? Too late now they are on !
It is installed it in the ideal location per instructions
I just wish the instructions mentioned the fact the KeyPad is only functional when the engine is running. There I was getting ready to flip her in the driveway and it will not work. I figured it out due to the fact it called for a connection to the Tach !
Bottom line is with the engine running it works perfectly, including ignition off it retracts.
Starboard side, It clears the Kicker perfectly..

Port Side ..Nice notch on the Bayliner Swim Platform :)

This location gives me easy access from the front access door and perfect connection to the control box.

Another one off the "To Do List"

Glad everything worked out on the install man. Ya did never mention Bayliner swim platform in the beginning so thats why I thought the tabs wouldn't fit. Not to be a pain in the azz but don't ya think the tabs are a little too close to the keel?

Default trim tabs.............................................. .

I have a big set of tabs on my V20....the control lever went out...I never replaced it because the tabs really arent necessary...they dont do much for me... I just lock them in line with the hull....yeah you can get on a plane a little quicker but whats 5 seconds anyway

Big Mike that's a great segway for my question.

On my new '84 V I am debating whether to get tabs. I am using the boat primarily as a day cruiser a bit of fishing and some water skiing. Do you guys think I would benefit from trim tabs?

Here is my honest opinion, Trim Tabs, and expensive Navigation (still pending) were the last things on my list during the restoration of my Boat. This is why you see me doing this one year after the complete restoration.
My recommendation on the Tabs is this, if you need other important stuff for your rig, move Tabs DOWN on the to do list.
I am saying this because base on the use of my Boat, Lake/Inter Coastal runs I am yet to see the huge need for it.
Keeping my Boat well balance it is excellent, My engine trim works excellent for the Bow down/up.
Bottom line is its your call.
My to do list looks like this
Keel Guard
GPS Chart Plotter Fish Finder combo
Remote Spotlight
Custom Cuddy Cushions
BTW your wake goes from this

To this
