Neither, it's a RAM INJECTIOn as they called it. It is basically an updated FICHT engine, but after 02 BRP was trying to distance itself from OMC and the stigma surrounding the FICHT engines. The ETEC is actually just another revision of the FICHT technology as well though.

Those '84's are said to be the best year V-20's ever made.
