Default Floor Update/Durabak

Finally rain and weather cooperated and got the Durabak in.

Work in progress pictures, but I really like the outcome.

Got a few spots around the edge where I realized that I should have used wider tape. A bit of cleaning up to do which as i've heard with Durabak is not so easy.

On to mounting the fish box door and a few other items for floor.

Then on to tackle box install and hopefully painting hull bottom in the next week or so.

joe, how gritty is the surface? will you be able to walk on it barefooted. if the photos it looks more chunky than gritty.

Will be able to advise on the barefoot question tomorrow as I will try it.

But just from the grittiness to the hand touch it does seem like it would be a little rough on barefoot.

I usually wear shoes or booties anyway so no big deal for me.

Love the fact that it does hide most imperfections in the level of the floor after reinstalling the floor and closing up the seam.

I'll try to get a few profile pictures of the grittiness. Also read somewhere that it's possible to make it a bit smoother with a brush.

So far I am very satisfied with the outcome and permanantness of the finish.

I would not walk on it barefoot, unless you are into that kind of thing!!Pretty tuff!
If you want barefoot order the smooth and sprinkle some sand a top of the first coat, add 2nd coat and you will be fine.

OK, walked barefoot on it substantially today while installing the hatches and some other items. No problem. Didn't feel uncomfortable on the feet at all. Got a cousin on there too and he felt the same way.

Did rest on my knees sometimes and was a bit uncomfortable after a while.

Could easily see how it's possible for a child(or adult) to get scrapped if they fall on it though. I'd worry more about the hooks and other stuff floating around the deck when fishing though.

Still 1000% happy with the outcome.
