| 1975 Trolling motor options

Hello all, I have a 1975 model, outboard powered, as seen in this picture. http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/cat_1975/page8 My motor is a 78 Merc 900, and I figured it may be smart to have a kicker on the boat as well. And as everyone knows, a boat this size needs a long shaft and a bracket. Apparently not the case, or is it? Was this boat designed to have a smaller outboard mounted next to the main motor, with the shape of the transom being the way it is. Was this intended for a 15" shaft motor? Thanks, just curious now. |

Most will add a bracket, not sure there is room to add to the transom? 20" long shaft will be the way to go.

There should be room back there. 9.9 hp seems to work well for thrust, weight and cost efficiency. I have an old 1975 johnson 9.9 for a kicker. The PO bought it for $400 on eBay about 5 years ago. I haven't used it much lately so I took it off the V. I need to do some maint on it.
