Default Oregon Inlet, NC

Went down to Oregon Inlet yesterday and did a little surf fishin. Tried the ocean fishin till midmorning, didnt get a bite. So I rode back to the southern end and tried my favorite spot on the sound side and caught plenty of spot, a few croakers, and undersized flounder. I came home with a nice mess of spot and croakers ta eat! Some nice bluefish were jumpin farther out in the inlet but I couldnt get my Gotcha plug out that far. I rode back to the marina at 3:00 and watched the charter boats come in with nice catches of Dolphin and tuna. Nice day!!

That's a great way to spend a day. I won't see the Oregon inlet until the end of June.

My family and I are going to stay at Nags Head for a week starting June 7. We always stay at the same cottage, just down from the Avalon pier on the beach. If any of you are in the area, stop by. You'll see see my burgandy Tacoma hooked to my V parked under the cottage.

I sure would like to get my crew out to OI or Hatteras. If I try hard enough I can see the sights and smells in my head....that place is simply theraputic. Glad you had a good trip. How much is gas down that way?

You know I think I saw your rig there this past weekend either Friday or Saturday. My parents have a place right at the 8 mile marker and I made a few trips down to the the Avalon pier. One of my customers own the pier and they give me a year pass which is nice as I can run down fish for an hour or two and be home before anyone is even up. I did catch a few trigger fish off the pier and saw several big Sheephead swimming around on Saturday. So Sunday I headed back with several dozen Sand Fle's but the SH where gone.

I will be down there the 27th of this month but without the V. I hope to get into a few of those sheepshead down at the OI bridge. Last year I hooked into a huge black drum and a few puppies. I also like to wade that area for specks and flounder on light tackle with jigs.
