Hello hello!
I finally managed some time for the boat and managed to uncover her from the long winter season. Decided to install a brand new raw water pump kit which I bought on line last year. Removing the lower unit was a breeze, one bolt for the shift rod in the cowl, seven bolts on the housing and the lower unit slid right out. Here’s what I didn’t like to see; one of the exhaust rubber gaskets was broken an missing a piece: Notice the broken gasket on the bottom and the exhaust piece on the right: ![]() Apparently it had been broken for awhile of it was installed like that. Not knowing the importance of it, I’m gonna play safe and install a new one, if and only if, I can find one locally. Tomorrow, I’ll take take a ride down town and look for a new gasket: Here’s some more pics: Here's the exhaust internal tube; ![]() ![]() Wiil take more pics as the project goes on: Joe
