BS posted listing a while ago that showed a 80's vintage 235 with 256 HP based on a Land and Sea dyno results (which I believe where all prop shaft based). I do know that the 85 235 became the 86 175XP when they went to propshaft HP ratings. The 235 is a good running engine, but it's light weight helped it alot as well.
